An American company called Superformance has decided to remember the 1966 Ford GT40 24 Hours of Le Mans. The famous racer will be commemorated by Superformance’s limited edition of just twenty GT40 MKII 50th Anniversary editions that will go on sale this year. Don’t let the right-hand-drive layout with a right-hand shift setup rain on your parade, because this is exactly how Le Mans racers looked like. Similar to the company’s standard GT40 MKII replicas, these cars are the closest you’ll get to the real thing, as 90 percent of the parts are interchangeable with the original, including the steel monocoque. Customers will be able to choose their favorite look among the Shelby-American team’s classic racers from the ’66 race, including Bruce McLaren’s black with silver stripes, Ken Miles’ blue with white stripes, and Dan Gurney’s red with white stripes.
